Ooooh! I like the gargoyle torches. Very gothic. The medium is very fitting for the subject, too. Beautiful.

Holy illustration that should be printed and put in, like a Harry Potter RPG Adventure handbook or something. It's so lovely and you took into account so much. I LOVE the variations of forground, middleground and background; it adds so much depth!

Those gorgeous pillars with the dragons curled around them look so real, like. This looks like a screencap from a movie or someting. The grimness of the girls is so mournful and the grey wash totally accentuates that. Poor Luna! The snow looks so textured and...snowy. Wah.

Thanks! I was actually surprised (and happy) at how 'snowy' the snow ended up looking.
Don't you wish they'd publish a book of fanart? I reckon it would sell surprisingly well!

Oh, this is gorgeous. I love how "flowy" everything looks.

(Found you through ivylore and yanksfan.)

the textures though out this are amazing, the snow, the stone, the fabric, the skin... all of it so *real* feeling. And their expressions... I think intense is the only word for it. Really amazing, all of it.

Love and Roses,
Jo

KaFOOM is the sound my brain makes upon coming into contact with this image.

Here via hp_art_daily, and boy am I glad.

The collar of the sweater! The folds in the skirt (which you didn't make too short, as so many tend to do)! The gargoyles! The atmosphere!

Did you just use the gouache for the whites, or did you use it for some of the grays too? I can't really tell, it looks like just the whites, but I burns to know, I does.

Hi! The gouache was basically the final highlights, although I did use it thinly in some areas (like the stonework) where it came up in varients of grey.
Glad you like the pic! :~)

Oh dear. *stares* Your art is so breathtaking, I just. Wow. Is this all natural media? I read up in the comments that you used gouache for the highlights. The amount of detail is staggerring, omg. I adore the folds in their clothes, particularly the skirt. You always draw beautifully intricate hair, and this piece is no exception. Especially Luna's, frizzy wispiness of it makes me LOVE. :D And what a gorgeous design for torches!

Amazing, through and through. I linked to your site on my webpage, btw. Hope you don't mind. :)

G'day, lizardspots! I'd be honoured to be linked from your site! :~D
As for the media this pic was done with - Copic Markers. Which are fancy (otherwise known as expen$ive) artist markers. I love them because it's like painting with watercolour, but without the mess. Plus they are permanent. You can get refills for all the colours and there is a 'colourless blender', which I find invaluable.
The gouache I use simply for finishing highlights.

Let me just say before I become incoherent that the girl on the right (I havent read the fic, so I dont know which is which) looks like Buffy!! :D

Now, incoherence: jjgggguhhhhffthhggg. textures. vnuffvvm. details. hlkkkmvvv.

I love the details (like the extra long toe on the gargoyle lol).

Love the colours, just thinking how the red of Ginny's hair would be like.
